Two-year post-doc position at the INRA Research Center of Nancy, UMR INRA-Lorraine University “Tree-Microbe interactions”, CHAMPENOUX, FRANCE. (http://mycor.nancy.inra.fr/). The Tree-Microbe Interaction Department is an interdisciplinary research laboratory with excellent facilities in bacteriology/microbial ecology/molecular biology and bioinformatics.
Details

We are recruiting as soon as possible a motivated post-doc scientist in the context of a French ANR project untitled « Bases for a sustainable ecological monitoring of ecosystems producing truffles of Tuber melanosporum». The aim is to monitor by cultivation-dependent and independent approaches, the taxonomic and functional diversity of the bacterial communities colonizing the sporocarps of T. melanosporum truffles during the fructification process, and to compare truffle-associated bacterial communities to the ones colonizing the truffle mycorrhizosphere and the soil.
Candidate profile

Candidates should have a PhD in a related field, having experience both with techniques for studying taxonomic bacterial diversity in the environment, especially soil one (an experience in metagenomic and bioinformating analyses will be suitable) and with researches associated with ecological questions. A previous experience with FISH techniques (sample fixations, FISH probe design and hybridizations) will also be greatly appreciated. Strong academic background in bacteriology is required. Because the project is planned to be conducted mostly as field studies, the candidate should have a real enthusiasm for field sampling campaigns. He/she should have demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication (writing reports and publications), ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
Application process

Interested candidates are encouraged to send by e-mail to Pascale Frey-Klett (klett@nancy.inra.fr, tel +33383394149), a cover letter outlining previous experience, a curriculum vitae and the name of up to three colleagues with first-hand knowledge of their academic accomplishments/post graduate work experience. Informal enquiries can be addressed to the same e-mail address. The application must be submitted as soon as possible
